Laboratory use only.
This restriction is not small print. It is the reason we check every order.
What the substances are intended for
All substances supplied by Helvion are intended exclusively for research, analysis and quality control. They are supplied to institutions that have the professional competence, the equipment and the organisational arrangements required for handling laboratory chemicals — and to private individuals who declare the same restriction on use and take responsibility for it themselves.
What they are expressly not intended for
- Not for administration to humans. The substances are not medicinal products. They have been tested neither for sterility nor for tolerability, are not subject to any marketing authorisation under medicines law, and must under no circumstances be ingested, injected or otherwise administered to humans.
- Not for administration to animals — neither as a veterinary medicinal product nor as a feed additive.
- Not a food, not a food supplement, not a cosmetic product.
- No resale. Onward supply is permitted only to purchasers who meet the same requirements and make the same declaration.
Ordering as a private individual
Private individuals may order. The declaration of use applies to them unchanged: research, analysis or quality control — not for administration to humans, not to animals. Anyone who makes the declaration without keeping to it is ordering on false information.
Whoever orders as a private individual does so at their own risk and on their own responsibility. That covers storage, handling, disposal and compliance with the rules that apply where they live. Helvion checks the order, but that replaces neither a laboratory environment nor professional instruction nor the protective equipment the safety data sheet calls for.
Why we carry out checks
Substances of this kind are sold on grey markets, labelled “for research purposes only”, and then administered by purchasers to themselves. This leads to dosing errors, non-sterile solutions and damage to health. A label alone does not prevent this.
That is why we check every order individually — whether it comes from an institution or a private individual: the information given, the delivery address and, for institutions, the VAT number against the EU database. We reserve the right to refuse individual orders.
Consequences of incorrect information
Incorrect information given when ordering or in the account leads to the account being blocked and open orders being cancelled. We reserve the right to make enquiries, to carry out checks of the evidence provided and to refuse individual orders without stating reasons.
Obligations of the purchaser
- Compliance with the safety data sheet, in particular regarding storage, protective equipment and disposal
- Storage such that unauthorised persons have no access
- Disposal in accordance with local provisions, and for institutions additionally with their waste regulations
- Compliance with medicines law (Arzneimittelgesetz), chemicals law (Chemikaliengesetz) and export control provisions in the event of onward supply
